Stunned

Just a simple pic I took of myself and then slightly altered the contrast and curves.

Summer Breeze

This ocean get-a-way scene came from an original shot I took of my shoes and one foot. You can see the comparison between the original and the final product below. Because the blanket contained the right texture and shape, I kept it and changed its color while adding other random effects such as dissolve painting, adding noise, and blurring it.

Water Falls

This image was taken outside LACMA, September 2007. It’s just a regular ol’ fountain; I believe I snapped this during the day, but is surely appears to be at night. I love how that happened.

Outside the Box

Random bits of poetry and positive saying are portrayed here. It’s not intended to be campy corporate buzzwords as someone commented on the Flickr version. Hah! I was actually using bits and pieces of inspirational positive thoughts, alongside vector doodles and other swirls and techy designs.

The text reads:

Finding the cycle / and breaking it
trials vs. errors
seeking truths, finding freedom
spiral outwards / beyond current knowledge

To explain:

  • Sometimes bad cycles need to be broken, no matter how many trials and errors it may take. It can be about a wide range of things, from going green to bad personal habits.
  • Freedom arises (in my mind) from knowledge. “Knowledge is power”…and power can lead to understanding as well as true freedom.
  • Spiraling outwards is far better than downwards. :) Sometimes up is the way, yet sometimes out is a better way for seeking anything beyond what is so-called current knowledge.

The following photos were taken at the Georgia Aquarium, which I happen to visit on a business trip.

Jellyfish, I held you close…:
Jellyfish, I held you close…

As heard on The Simpsons, in episode “A Star Is Born Again” (EABF08). The lyrics can be seen here.

Jellyfish, along you came,
and right away I’m stung.
Sweet words I long to whisper,
But you’ve paralyzed my tongue.

Jellyfish, I held you close,
and told you I love you.
But then the ocean took you back,
and now I just hold goo.

Jellyfish, I held you close,
and said that I love you.
But then the ocean took you back,
My Jelly I’ll miss you!
For now I just hold goo.

This only show what a Simpsons geek I am. :)
