The original photo was taken outside LACMA, in the garden. I kept with the Zen feel but expanded on it by placing the bold orange and black explosion within the birdhouse. The bold yet pretty colors everywhere else signifies a more optimistic outlook, while still struggling with the chaos within. It’s a delicate balancing act.

Similar to what I did with “Flora”, I enhanced the colors, creating an HDR-like effect. First, I duplicated the background layer. (Now there are two layers.) Then, I increased the saturation of the upper layer in addition to adjusting the layer mode to grain merge. The lighting of the original image was subpar:
