Simply put, without fear we wouldn’t be able to accomplish most of things we do. It’s in conquering our fears that we become fearless, which is key. I suppose I was inspired by Arianna Huffington’s On Becoming Fearless: “Fearlessness is not the absence of fear. Rather, it’s the mastery of fear.”
I suppose this image is dark, yet optimistic. Seems perfect for me.

I started with this simple self-portrait that I took of myself:
Then I overlayed golden gradients to get this effect. Honestly, I can’t recall what I did first or second. Yet I do remember playing with several golden layers and effects until I came to a point where I was happy with the result.
