This is just one of the many ways one can work through anger. Art is about expressing emotions. They can’t alway be happy. Though, for me, it usually is. This time, not so much.

I had started this oddity over a year ago and found it in my working images folder. The gold dust and twinkles were in place but it was bland. So I added the heat with motion lines as well as the lightning. Once again, I’ve created a bizarre little number but also interesting enough to post.

Whenever I’m in the mood to do some type of image but am completely drained of ideas, I may go back to said folder. Its far from empty.

Originally, I think I entitled this only “Gold Dust” because I was inspired by one of my favorite Tori Amos songs with the same name. You can see a shaky performance of “Gold Dust” below. It gets me every time. Read the lyrics here.

Here’s a rare bit of raw emotion, which is rather atypical of me:

I have no more words to speak; I’ve been trying to hide this immense disappointment and anger tunneling from a group of situations I don’t care to delve into more details about at this moment. I’ve been trying to get over, understand, overcome, …anything! It just takes time. And great mental and emotional strength that I am starting to find. It just takes time.

The photo was originally shot by my husband. Then I enhanced the color just slightly (it was dark) abut also enhanced some of the graininess for whatever reason.

Another abstract that happened while just playing around with Photoshop 7. It’s only so-so, honestly. But sometimes, for business purposes, I just need to save in the highly protected psd file without losing important information. e.g A text layer saved as a psd in Gimp becomes a regular (not editable text) layer.

I am in a weird mood, none that I could explicitly portray in any lexicon known to humankind. Maybe that’s a poem of its own..lol nah.

This image was taken of a display in front of an up-coming tattoo and clothing shop, King Ink. Be warned: there’s loud auto play music that you should be prepared for.

I got a chance to play around with Photoshop 7. I haven’t used Photoshop since around 3 or 4 (predating the newer Creative Suite versions) so I figured this would be a good opportunity to figure out some of the major differences between PS and Gimp. I may wind up getting a more recent version of Photoshop for business purposes so I can understand the most current similarities and differences. But with the newest version of The Gimp that’s still looming, who knows?

So far, I have to say that Gimp isn’t so far behind. Speaking specifically about Photoshop 7, it’s not too far off. Some things are far easier with PS and then some things seem more difficult. As I get used to it, I will be able to report on more specifics.

Some old school real 16mm film. It’s about 7 years old and I still have it unopened for some reason. I’ll probably open it to take photos of the film itself someday. I happen to like this under exposed reddish shot which, by the way, has not a stitch of digital manipulation.

I sat down today to make an abstract something or other. And I believe I succeeded. Enough. So, what did I do?

1. I started using layers upon layers of different textures and brushes.
2. ???
3. This happened.

Ha! It’s just an simple expression of something. But I’m not sure what yet.
